As you know I have decided to take part in The Sketchbook Project. For those of you who don't remember or are new... The Sketchbook Project is an assignment that lasts a whole year. In that year I have to finish a sketchbook (sent by TSP) based around a theme. The sketchbook is due this January and will travel across the U.S.A. and also visit London England and Melbourne Australia.
The thousands of sketchbooks submitted will be exhibited for public view in galleries and museums as they make their way across the world. After the tour, they will be barcoded and enter the permanent collection of The Brooklyn Art Library where they will be available for public view.
I chose the theme "Writing on the Wall", so every page will at least have a word if not words on it. When I started the sketchbook months ago, and I must digress I haven't really worked on it since... I was battling a depression and the artwork reflects that. Now that I have won the fight, my artwork reflects that!
I figured since my deadline is drawing near, I need to get my rump in gear! I am hoping to go to the kick off day in Brooklyn N.Y. and wish my book well wishes as it goes on it's international voyage. I will continue to share the progress of my book with you! I have also started to draw in my own personal sketchbook again. I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to a sketchbook, finding it difficult not to rip pages out. I am resisting the urge! the more I draw, the more progress I will make in my skills. I will also be sharing these pages as well.
You will notice in the near future, that I will be adding some pages to my blog for artwork and a bio page. There will also be a button to request commissions. I look forward to sharing with you! enjoy your day!! It's cold and rainy here in N.Y., and that's okay by me... it's the opportunity to dress cozy and enjoy turning the heat on in my car.
