I just can't over the fun of a weekly challenge! Spoonflower always has a list of their upcoming weekly challenges for me to oogle over and think about. After entering the Ditsy Sea Creature contest and this weeks Royal Jelly, I am starting to get an idea of what people are looking for in a fabric design... those not being quite it. But this next weeks challenge, the challenge of "bicycles" I have something really cute and different up my sleeve!
sneaky peek.... work in progress...
I can't tell you how much I appreciate those of you who have taken your valuable time to vote on my designs. It means so much to have your support and your votes. So THANK YOU!! oh and a hug too! hugs are great, aren't they? I always appreciate a good hug. I can never understand those people who are afraid to go chest to chest with a hug cause well in my opinion that's what a hug should be... but that sounds like a blog post for another day now doesn't it!? hmmm... thinking cap on!
Back to fabric (Ashlie contain your domino thoughts)... containging... deep breath... ok! So yes, Spoonflower fabric. I am happy to tell you that I ordered test swatches of the first two fabrics I have designed. Once they arrive I can "proof" them and then offer them for sale right there in my little Spoonflower shop. Cool thing is, I get 10% of the proceeds. Not alot, and that doesn't really matter... but very cool all the same. Just knowing my art is getting into the hands of sewers makes my heart dance!
Ditsy Sea Creatures and Royal Jelly, the original pieces are now available in my Etsy shop! no need for me to keep them all to myself when someone can enjoy them. I personally think these two specific pieces would make great nursery or child decor.
I didn't know how much I enjoyed contests and calls for art until I started sending challenges to Somerset Studio. From there I was introduced to Spoonflower and continue to have my eyes open for other fun things to enter!
Thank you again to those who voted, vote, and continue to vote for my work. I really appreciate it and love that you love my work! I think it would be so much fun to win! who knows, maybe I will :)
